Sherap's needs
In Kathmandu Nepal there is a child named Sherap and he lives in a monastery why he trains his whole childhood to become a monk. But he is still a child with needs like any other 10 year old boy. Children in Nepal struggle to get clean water, food and emotional support.
Our child Sherap’s long and hard day begins at 5:30 AM and finally ends at 9:00 PM after a long day of training all he eats is noodle soup and flat bread, a meal like this is not enough to keep a young boy like Sherap going especially when he works so hard and so long. If Sherap doesn’t get enough food for as much as he’s working it can cause depression, kidney problems, and unfortunately bone loss.
Water is very dirty and clean water is very scarce in Nepal. People their today don’t have clean water, so they will have diseases and really bad health. 60% of childhood deaths are due to mainutrition, which is exacerbated by dirty drinking water. Living below the poverty line and only 27% with improved access to sanitation. That leads to water pollution and water scarcity. As you can tell water is very scarce and you can help to get clean water.
Like Sherap many children in the monastery because it is believed that if you give your child to a monastery it will bring them good luck. Sherap lives with 79 other boys training to be monks. So Sherap and a lot of other children could use a friend go to www.worldwide.edu.com to learn more on how you can talk to children just like Sherap.
Children in Nepal with all of these things, food, clean water and emotional support. We should all try to help these children so that they can receive the things that Americans so often take for granted.
